I earned my BBA in Finance from Ohio University in Athens, where I was an active Deltasig, before interning and later accepting a position as a pensions analyst with Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. After marrying my best friend, I moved back to my hometown of Homeworth and began working at Diebold, Inc., where I advanced through the corporate ladder to Senior Business Analyst while also earning my MBA at Malone College in Canton.
When we started our family, I stepped away from the stressful, unfulfilling corporate life to raise our children. Before long, I realized I needed new challenges, which led me to teaching at the Salem branch of Kent State University. I loved it and decided to pursue my doctorate at Kent State’s main campus, where I was awarded a full scholarship to study finance. During that time, our family also chose to shift our children’s education to schools better suited to their needs and our values, sending our older two to The Good Shepherd School in Hartville while our youngest began preschool.
I earned my Ph.D. in Finance in 2017, but despite my dedication, it was difficult to find a professor position near our families in Ohio. My husband and I took a leap of faith, moving to Fort Mill, South Carolina, to pursue better opportunities in a stronger job market. Along the way, I recognized that academia was beginning to mirror the same struggles I experienced in corporate America—limited freedom, lack of control, and few clear rewards for hard work. That realization is what led me to The Entrepreneur’s Source®. The process helped me discover freedom, clarity, and the chance to build equity in my life, and now I’m passionate about helping others do the same—exploring possibilities, defining success on their own terms, and creating paths toward their dreams.
